Well, considering the name of the site, you’ve probably already figured out my name: Fernando J. Prieto. I was born in Miami, FL to Cuban parents in the last days of Disco. College eventually brought me to Tampa bay where I graduated with a B.A. in History.
After falling in love with the area and getting involved with the Church here, I decided to make it my permanent home. Shortly after graduating college, I began interning at a local Catholic (Christian Hot AC/CHR-formatted) radio station called Spirit FM 90.5. Quickly I became convinced that I had found where God wanted me to be. I was eventually hired as a part-time employee then later a full-timer.
The Big Big House Morning Show is the main focus of my work at Spirit FM for which I’m producer, “sidekick”, and web asset manager. Beyond that, I take care of the station’s website, Facebook and Twitter pages, and fill in as host for other day-parts as needed. My schedule allows me to pursue my love of voice-over when my workday at my “day job” is done.
